Logins, then a forty-five-minute call.
You tell us the five numbers you check by gut and the one you’ve stopped trusting. We connect up to four sources and start tracing lines.

That was the night I started Bellwether Ledger. I’d just watched a good owner rebuild the same report for the ninth month running, and I thought: nobody should have to do this by hand. So we don’t make people.
// 01 — where the name comes from
A bellwether is the sheep that wears the bell. The flock listens for it, and it tells everyone where things are headed. When I first read that word, I thought of every owner I know who learns about a slow month three weeks after it happened.
I spent years inside other people’s numbers before I opened this shop. I saw the same pattern everywhere: the accounting tool knew one thing, the CRM knew another, the online store knew a third, and the owner was the only place they ever met. Usually at night, in a spreadsheet.
The “ledger” half is the rule we work by. Every figure on a dashboard has to trace back to a line somebody can point at. If we can’t show where a number came from, it doesn’t go on your screen.
We’re small on purpose. You’ll talk to the same two people on the first call, in the walkthrough, and on the quarterly refresh if you want one.
// 02 — the four house rules
We ask for view-only logins. We never post an entry, never edit a invoice, and never touch your bookkeeper’s work. If something looks off, we hand it to them with the line number.
You get a number on paper before we open a single login: $640 for an audit, $1,480 for a setup, $2,230 for a forecast. An hourly meter makes people hesitate to ask questions, and we want the Tuesday question.
The table, the dashboards, the model: all of it sits in accounts you own. If you never call us again, nothing stops working and nothing is held hostage.
“Gross margin” and “runway” get a one-paragraph explanation written for your business, not a textbook. If you can’t explain a metric to your best employee, we haven’t finished.

Week 1 · Connect
You tell us the five numbers you check by gut and the one you’ve stopped trusting. We connect up to four sources and start tracing lines.
Week 2 · Build
We reconcile the table against your books, fix what disagrees, and build the screens. You see drafts midweek and tell us what to cut.
Week 3 · Hand off
Sixty minutes, recorded, with the glossary beside it. Final half of the fee is due here, and not before.
